One of the most coveted trophies in all of high school sports will be traveling back to Highlander Country thanks to Laurel Space from the Class of 2025.
Space was awarded the Passaic County Female Athlete of the Year Award Thursday, June 12, at the 52nd annual Passaic County Coaches Awards Dinner.
Surrounded by family, her coaches, and her teammates along with other West Milford High School students, Space was all smiles as she graciously hugged her fellow nominees and held her trophy high.
The trophy has not been at WMHS since 1995 and is the most competitive award in North Jersey high school athletics.
Parts of her varsity sports accolades include being captain of all four of her teams: field hockey, basketball, flag football, and track and field.
Space is a true scholar athlete ranked 4th in her class with a cumulative GPA of 4.35.
She will be attending Rutgers University this fall and is majoring in nursing.
