Attention all Marvel fans! As I’m sure plenty of you have heard, our favorite loud-mouthed mutant is coming back with his third movie! “Deadpool and Wolverine” is coming to theaters on July 26, 2024.
In the first movie, viewers see the origin of Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and his life as Wade Wilson working as a mercenary and having a lovely girlfriend named Vanessa Carlysle (Morena Baccarin). All is going well for Wade until he discovers he has cancer and then a scientist named Ajax comes around shortly after claiming that he and his association would be able to cure the cancer. He lied. This is when Wade Wilson endured several experimental injections and horrific torture, which transform him into Deadpool and drive him to seek revenge on Ajax and his cronies.
The second movie features the X-Men, who recruit Deadpool as a trainee to help detain an angry orphaned mutant teen named Russell who has pyrokinesis. The staff at the orphanage had been abusing Russell. When seeing this, Deadpool kills an orphanage staff member and both mutants are taken to prison. Here is when Russell is taken by a futuristic super-soldier named Cable. He kidnaps Russell because in his timeline, Russell grows up to kill Cable’s family. Cable then time-travels back to when Russell is still young so he can eliminate him and bring his own family back. Deadpool then puts together a team of mutants with Bedlam, Shatterstar, Domino and others, who work tirelessly to rescue Russell.
The third movie will star Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool once again, and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. A quick synopsis of the movie states that the Time Variance Authority, a.k.a the TVA, takes Wade Wilson and puts him on an extremely important mission on which he has to work as a team with Wolverine. The TVA is an organization that exists outside of time and space that protects the timeline and destroys anomalies that diverge from the main timeline. It’s said that the infamous Cassandra Nova will be the villain in this movie.
Although much isn’t known about the movie yet, it will surely be a hit; the previous “Deadpool” movies had incredible box office results such as the first movie earning $781,947,691 and the second movie with $786,362,370. These movies have never failed to entertain me in the past, so I’m very excited for this new movie. Deadpool and Wolverine are the most unlikely team to fight against evil,with their clashing personalities; the viewer will surely be captivated. Be ready to run to your nearest theater on July 26 and have a laugh!
