Taylor Swift is one of the most popular and highly listened to female artists of all time. She has accumulated over 101 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Swift has produced 13, almost 14, albums since 2006. Through these albums, she has reached into many different genres, including, but not limited to, pop, rock, country, folk, and alternative. Swift is also known for being an inspiration to many young women. She continues to be authentic and speaks up for herself despite being torn down by the industry many times.
On November 1, 2022, Swift announced that she would be going on tour again. Her “Eras Tour”, highlights all of her different albums. The tour included 27 different concerts throughout all the states. Her headlines included Paramore, beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, girl in red, MUNA, HAIM, GAYLE, Gracie Abrams, and OWENN. And in June, Swift announced that she would be bringing the “Eras Tour” international with Sabrina Carpenter as a special guest.
Swift’s concerts last more than 3 hours, have an average of 54,000 in attendance, and bring in about $13 million per show. She even broke the Steelers stadium record for most attendance with a total of 73,117 people. She also keeps her shows fun and makes sure all the fans feel included. The light up bracelets given at the beginning are not only cute, but they light up to the beat of her songs. Her stadium is packed with devoted fans who spent hundreds of dollars on tickets, outfits, and merchandise. Each concert is surprised with two acoustic versions of one of her songs. These surprise songs are songs that are not featured on the setlist. The fans get excited and try to guess which song she will play. Swift has also played despite the pouring rain, whereas other performers would have canceled. If, sadly, you were unable to get tickets to her concert, fret not. The “Eras Tour Concert Film” is officially coming to theaters on October 13. Be prepared to dress up and sing your hearts out in the comfort of a movie theater!
On August 10, 2023, Swift announced another rerecording of one of her older albums, “1989.” She took to Instagram to express how much love and excitement she has for this album, saying, “This is my most favorite album re-record.” Swift has now rerecorded five of her studio albums, taking back her rights to them. Scooter Braun, Taylor’s manager, had purchased Big Machine in June of 2019 for an estimated amount of $300 million. Braun then gained ownership of all the artists under Big Machine which included Taylor herself. Meaning that Swift would have to ask for permission and pay a fee to use her own songs. She then explained on Tumblr how hurtful and betrayed she felt by Braun, and in August, 2019, Swift announced that she would be rerecording all of her previous albums. But before she could put out her first re-recorded album, Braun had sold Taylor’s masters to Shamrock Holdings. Despite the trouble of recording her albums again, Taylor has been happy to put her name back to her music. Proving, once again, that she is stronger than those who try to tear her down. Let’s watch as this trailblazing woman continues to take over the music industry and even the world!
