The West Milford Field Hockey team continued where they left off a season ago starting out with a record of 4-0. Coming out with a statement 6-0 win in the opening game vs. PCTI, senior goalie Sam Krautheim played an amazing game shutting out the rival school. Senior Avery Vacca paved the way for the Highlanders, scoring two goals, both with assists. Goals were also scored by seniors Hayley Allwood and Angelina Colucci, junior Laurel Space, and sophomore Addyson Seidner. Assists came from senior Amelia Pilatowski, senior Aubrey Fritz, and junior Lily Kreutzer.
With this win, the Highlanders were just getting started. In a 4-1 win vs. Kittatinny, Addyson Seidner kicked things off by scoring a goal in the first three minutes of the game. Lily Kreutzer scored twice in the 2nd quarter, giving the Highlanders a 3-0 lead. Hayley Allwood scored in the 4th quarter to give the Highlanders a comfortable 4-1 lead. Assists came from Avery Vacca, Aubrey Fritz, and Amelia Pilatowski. Samantha Krautheim shut the door on Kittatinny. Facing 16 shots, she finished with 13 saves as the Highlander field hockey team would go on to win the game 4-1.
The Highlander field hockey team made it three in a row in a dominating 5-0 win vs. Butler. Angelina Colucci and Lily Kreutzer played an amazing game, finishing with two goals each. Hayley Allwood scored a goal and also finished the contest with an assist, while Avery Vacca racked up three assists. The Highlanders were able to coast to the finish line with goalie Samantha Krautheim leaving Butler with a 0 on the scoreboard.
The Highlanders were not done winning yet in their 4th game against division foe Lakeland. Addyson Seidner scored four goals! That gives her six goals on the year so far and it’s only been four games. Hayley Allwood also scored her fourth goal of the season. Assists came from Avery Vacca, Amelia Pilatowski, Angelina Colucci, and Vivian Sirnik. Sam Krautheim left Lakeland goal-less, capping off a dominating 5-0 win.
The Highlanders are on the road for the next two games in matchups against Wayne Hills and Wayne Valley. They are home again on October 3 vs. Pompton Lakes, come out to watch them on the turf at 4 pm. .
