Dashing to a distanced Disney World

(Readers, please note this article is not encouraging travel, it is explaining the current situation in Disney World and outlines the benefits of going at this current time)

With Covid-19 rules being enforced at Disney World, there has never been a better time to visit the Orlando theme park. The parks are almost empty, there are no wait times for the rides, for the food, or for character

meet and greets. Workers are taking every precaution to keep Disney a safe place, such as cleaning constantly, wearing masks, maintaining social distancing guidelines, and limiting park capacity. The prices are a little higher to offset the lost revenue when the park was shut, however the difference is not severe. For example, Pop Century Resort went from $197.00 per night to roughly $204.00 a night, which is not a huge difference, however it begins to add up the more days booked. If planning a trip, this article contains the best rides, places to eat, and places to visit.

Magic Kingdom is the most popular place to go in Disney, and it is filled with the best rides and delicious food. The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space and Splash Mountain, and It’s A Small World are the most beloved attractions in this park, which usually have wait times of two hours plus.   With the current emptiness, the wait time is only about ten minutes each, giving you a lot more time to enjoy the park rather than to stand in line. The majority of character meet and greets are found here, whether it be princesses, Pixar characters, or anyone in between. If you maintain social distancing and wearing a mask, pictures and character signature signings are still available.

The Crystal Palace and Cinderella’s Royal Table are the most requested and booked restaurants that Magic Kingdom has to offer, with delicious dining and character appearances. These restaurants are now available upon booking for your next Disney trip, as there are fewer people dining overall and therefore seating is relatively easy to find.

Animal Kingdom is best known for Expedition Everest and the Pandora section, which on average have an average of 140 minute wait. At this time, the longest wait for these rides is twenty minutes tops, which cuts off an incredible amount of waiting time. Epcot is famous for its round the World tour, where you can eat and drink foods from across the globe and experience cultures in Epcot’s different countries. Along with these immersive cultural encounters, visitors can find additional rides along with character meet and greets, especially some of the princess favorites. Enjoy this experience without the feeling of having to hurry and move on as crowds of people wait impatiently behind you.

Hollywood Studios, previously known as MGM Studios, has opened a Toy Story Land, which I personally am dying to visit, and would be a great place to explore soon. The open areas, the almost complete outdoor environment make distancing relatively easy, and the numerous rides such as Rock and Roll Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, and Star Tours would contribute to a great day.

Disney World is a great place to visit at any time, but if you are planning a trip sometime soon, please be advised of the rules and regulations that must be taken to keep yourself and others safe.
