It was December 14th, 1503, in Saint-Remy-de-Provence, France, and a man named Michel de Nostredame, currently known as Nostradamus, was born. This man’s name has become synonymous with the idea of a seer and a prediction maker. Nostradamus’s book of predictions, “Les Propheties”, is a collection of 942 predictions in poetry form, and at least eight major predictions are rumored to have come true.
The first prophecy is as follows; “The young lion will overcome the older one, On the field of combat in a single battle; He will pierce his eyes through a golden cage, Two wounds made one, then he dies a cruel death,” which predicted the death of Henry II. During a joust, Henry II was pierced in the eyes while facing off against Montgomery, and he died ten days later, a cruel death, the way Nostradamus predicted it.
Another one of his predictions involved a very well-known dictator: “from the depths of the West of Europe, a young child will be born of poor people, he who by his tongue will seduce a great troop; his fame will increase towards the realm of the East. Beasts ferocious with hunger will cross the rivers, the greater part of the battlefield will be against Hister. Into a cage of iron will the great one be drawn, when the child of Germany observes nothing.” This disastrous prophecy was the prediction of Hitler walking the Earth. Nostradamus knew there was going to be an evil human made to destroy the human race after having a disturbing childhood.
One of the most famous of Nostradamus’s predictions was his prediction of 9/11. He wrote is his book, “Earthshaking fire from the center of the Earth, will cause tremors around the New City. Two great rocks will war for a long time, then Arethusa will redden a new river.” The two great rocks refer to the fallen twin towers, and the result of the attack was was death, destruction, and war on terror. Nostradamus is the most known prediction maker, and he has scarily accurate predictions.
The other predictions that have come true include the atomic bombings during WWII, the fire in London, the French revolution, JFK’s assassination, and the San Francisco earthquake of 1906.
Nostradamus also made predictions that were meant to come true in our year of 2019. One of these predictions is that there will be a World War III, which would include the biggest powers in today’s society, such as England, Russia, USA, North Korea, and China. The war will start in France and spread across Europe until the US and Asian countries interject.
He also predicted that an earthquake will happen and the power will be felt around the world; “An earthquake shall concern particularly the western area of the United States. Its power shall be felt in lands throughout the globe.”
Although his predictions seem to line up with many events that have happened, they are very broadly stated and can be interpreted in various ways, similar to horoscopes. A person’s horoscope is fun to read and to follow, however, horoscopes can be taken in a variety of ways, and are very general, so that they are meaningful to each person. , similar to the predictions Nostradamus gave.
