The West Milford High School Softball team has had a phenomenal 2017 season, between the county tournaments, rivalry games, and the Big North Conference, the team truly shined.  The West Milford High School Softball team has had a phenomenal 2017 season, between the county tournaments, rivalry games, and the Big North Conference, the team truly shined.  During the Big North Conference we had an amazing win over Lakeland, our number one rival, with a final score of 3-1. Paige Masiello, one of the team’s captains, also the pitcher, ended the game with a strikeout. Masiello has had a superb season,  already having over 115 strike outs in May.   Other star players this season include senior centerfielder, Jessica Utter, and sophomore right- fielder, Natalie Marzalik.  Coach Nikki Gwinnett told northjersey.com reporter Chris Iseman after the county semi-finals, “[I said to the team] Listen, we just need to be cool and calm and just do what we need to do and we’ll get it.”   And that they did.   With a final record for the season of 21-8, the  Girl’s Softball Team showed  determination and dedication to the sport.  Good luck, seniors!
