Fencing team refusing to back down despite difficult season

The girls fencing season is already coming to an end. The team has struggled throughout the season against other teams in meets and the Santelli tournament. The team unfortunately hasn’t had the best season this year, and some meets were extremely close, but none of the team members have given up yet.

The girls continue to work hard every day in the cafeteria until about 4:10 to try and improve their skills. Although the team hasn’t been doing that well this year, next season could be a major improvement. Out of the team of only 14 members, 6 of them are sophomores and 4 of them are freshmen. Which could mean in a year or two the team’s improvement could be unbelievable.

Also, despite having a new team this year, the newer members had done amazing in the Santelli tournament. Even though the team didn’t get far, almost everyone on the entire team had won at least once. The girls have also shown a lot of improvement along the season and continue to work their hardest.

This Saturday, the fencing team will participate in the District Tournament at Fairlawn High School. It would be greatly appreciated to have fellow students come and support the team at the tournament, and even through the rest of the season. Please come and support your friends and fellow students and wish them luck!
