Tube socks, underwear, and toothbrushes. What do these things all have in common? They all make terrible holiday gifts. Gift giving is an art in itself; it’s something not very many people know how to do. Sure, it’s easy to just put a pack of Hanes underwear in pretty tissue paper, wrap some pretty wrapping paper around it, slap a shiny bow on top, and send it on its merry way to the recipient.
Though it’s horrible when it happens to us, we can’t help but laugh at those who have the face of pure confusion when they open that pretty looking box and see a horrible tie staring back at them. Here’s a compiled list of the worst holiday gifts:
10: Assorted Lotions- It’s fine to receive this as a gift, but the reason it’s on here is because of the lack of creativity.
9: Clothes with the tags ripped off- WHY?! Why do people actually do this? Nobody cares about how much it costs as long as it looks cute. It’s even worse when people purposely buy expensive gifts and leave the tag noticeably on top so they seem extra generous.
8: Gift cards to places you don’t go to- I don’t think uncles and aunties understand the concept of growing up. I no longer shop at Children’s Place.
7: Underwear- Sadly although it’s present on this list, you have to admit it’s useful. It’d be worse getting underwear as a kid because as you grow up the choices get cuter.
6: Socks- Yikes! Not much can be said about these unless they’re toe socks or fuzzy socks. They’re boring, but admittedly practical.
5: School Supplies- You must really hate me, don’t you?
4: Toothpaste- Are you implying something here?
3: Cheap Play Makeup- If it looks like it came from the counter of Chuck E Cheese, I don’t want it. If it actually is from Chuck E. Cheese, leave my house now.
2: Coupons- This is a thing. It’s happened before. I don’t appreciate receiving junk mail.
1: Various Accessories for Devices You Don’t Own – You really didn’t even bother to check. Really, now?
So there you have it! Some of the worst holiday gifts anyone could ever receive, although I’m sure there are worse. Please be mindful when giving gifts this holiday season. Try to make them personal and thoughtful. Happy holidays!
