Bill Cosby a well-known television icon has been accused of sexual assault including charges of molestation and rape against well over 20 different women. This all started with one woman by the name of Andrea Constand who accused Cosby of drugging her and invading her personal boundaries. It was never put through court and Cosby was never charged due to insufficient evidence. However soon after one woman by the name of Tamara Green accuses Cosby of raping her in either 1969 or 1970 when she had dreams of becoming a television star they were in the mists of business transactions when Cosby gave her “red and gray pills” because she was feeling rather sick. Cosby allegedly drove her to her apartment and took advantage of her soon after leaving two $100 bills before leaving her alone. This was brought to the public’s attention in 2005. Traumatized from this event, Green is forced to sleep in her clothing every night because of what he had supposedly done to her. Since that announcement over 20 different women who have known cause are either for April long or short period of time has confessed to having similar encounters with him. Bill Cosby being a very rich and well-known comedian has denied all accusations as well as his representative. These accusations have led from women of consenting age all the way to minors even at the age of 15.
One of the most recent cases of Cosby allegedly drugging a woman had been explained in full detail with victim Beverly Johnson’s recently released essay on what had exactly happened that night sometime in the 1980’s. Johnson explains that she didn’t come forward with her story sooner because, “Black men have enough enemies out there already, and they certainly don’t need someone like you, an African American with a familiar face and a famous name, fanning the flames.”
Johnson was invited to Cosby’s house with her daughter which she now says , “Looking back, that first invite from Cosby to his home seems like part of a perfectly laid out plan, a way to make me feel secure with him at all times. It worked like a charm.” After her pleasant experience with Cosby and her daughter she was invited back alone to discuss a potential role on Cosby’s hit show ; “The Cosby Show”. This seems to be a pattern in Cosby’s alleged scheme, making women in the entertainment industry believe they have a role set up for themselves.
When Johnson went to Cosby’s the second time she was offered a cappuccino that was supposedly very good, she refused because she could not sleep at night if she had coffee. Cosby insisted. She accepted his offer feeling rude to refuse such a powerful man and drank; she immediately knew she was drugged. After a series of inappropriate events Johnson eventually made her way home. She kept her secret to herself until December eleventh where she published an essay on the Vanity Fair website. Since then Johnson has stood alongside the other allegedly raped women in their demand for the defamation of Bill Cosby.
