Don’t you hate when the Internet possesses you and tells you to kill your friend? This happened to two twelve year old girls, when the fictional “Slenderman” craved a sacrifice.
In Wisconsin, three girls went out for an innocent game of hide and seek. Only two girls came back. The victim, who was stabbed 19 times, was allegedly left to crawl to safety. Luckily a bicyclist spotted the girl and brought her to a nearby hospital. She was in stable condition, but was listed as in shock.
Slenderman himself is famous in creepy-pastas, or amateur horror stories. The two suspects, Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, were determined to impress this villain by making a sacrifice. There are thousands of Slenderman stories, with none of them being true. Geyser and Weier are being tried as adults with first-degree intentional homicide charges.
Multiple plans were created in order to kill their “friend.” First, the girls wanted to duct tape the victim’s mouth shut so it would prevent screaming. Next, they wanted to kill her in a public bathroom, because clean up would be easier. Finally they agreed to do it in the middle of a park at night. The evidence included a large kitchen knife which Geyser hid in her mother’s purse.
How is it possible to survive being stabbed 19 times? The victim was stabbed in the chest, very near the heart. When she was discovered by the bicyclist, he could tell she was in extreme pain. She was only able to answer yes and/or no questions. The search for the two suspects was simple according to authorities, because the girls were walking in a very unusual place – the interstate. Mary Ellen O’Toole, a former FBI profiler, described the case as “very unusual — not just because is involves young females,” she said, “but the brutality of it.” Both girls are being held until their court dates.
