This year the baseball team was loaded with seniors. Here is a list of seniors with their respected positions. Tom Murphy: Out Field, Harry Van Dyke: Catcher, Jon Dimond: 2nd Base, Chris Boes: Out Field, Destin Royer: Catcher, Brenden Gerity: Pitcher, Liam Stewart: 3rd base and pitcher, L.J. Coach Van had some high expectations, like any coach would and of those expectations he wanted to see the team win their conference and finish the season around 15 to 16 wins. Coach Van said, “If we can pitch well, we can compete in all games.” The team finished with a 11-10 record putting them one game over .500. The team stayed around the .500 mark for most of the season. The team had a six game winning streak about mid way through the season, but then went 2-7 in their final nine games.
The Highlanders had their usual Big North schedule and some notable conference games that they played were against Lakeland, Wayne Valley, and Wayne Hills. They have beaten Wayne Valley twice already this season. The Highlanders lost to Wayne Hills in all three meetings this season. The Highlanders split their two games against rival Lakeland this season. .
With so many seniors on the team it was not the season they were hoping for, but for some they are going to continue their baseball careers in college.
