The “Godzilla” legacy has been revived! On May 16th the new rendition of “Godzilla” was released to theaters across the nation. The story belongs to Joe and Ford Brody, the son and father whose wife/mother was ripped away from them by a terrible nuclear power plant malfunction.
Years later, Ford Brody bailed his father out of jail for trespassing on restricted territory that was part of the city destroyed by the fatal accident. However, once out of jail, Joe convinces his son to go into the restricted territory and proves to him that though it’s should be a lethally toxic by the air it was actually safe and the government was hiding major secrets from the public.  After they are both captured and interrogated, Joe tells Dr. Ishiro Serizawa that he was aware of what was happening. With Joe’s intelligence of seismic waves and echolocation, he comes to the conclusion that the seismic waves coming from the plant are the same patterns from when the accident ensued. This is when Dr. Ishiro decides to show Joe his project. They have been harboring this egg hoping to find some intelligence from it when it hatched.
After being told of the potentially lethal fate that could occur, they decide to kill the test specimen by electrocuting it. However the energy from the electricity actually sped up its hatching. The egg hatched and people were being killed from the new born creature,
People in the plant died and even sent Joe Brody to his untimely demise. The creature was named M.U.T.O.
After being transported to Hawaii to find M.U.T.O, they encounter Godzilla. Dr. Ishiro explained to Brody that Godzilla only appeared when he needed to restore the balance of nature. After a huge showdown of Godzilla and M.U.T.O, M.U.T.O retreated to Nevada. This proved to be very bad because the new creatures fed on nuclear energy and needed it to spawn. Meanwhile, Godzilla kills the male M.U.T.O by crushing him into a skyscraper. The female M.U.T.O leaves to fight Godzilla. Brody unable to stop a time bomb meant to destroy San Francisco with the monsters in it, he decided to go to the back up plan and drive the bomb on a boat as far away from the mainland as possible. The female M.U.T.O now weakens Godzilla tremendously. Godzilla then rises up and breathes his atomic breath into the female M.U.T.O’s mouth and kills her. Brody awakens he reunites with his family who had to also live through all the terror. Godzilla wakes up at the very end and returns to the depths of the ocean where he waits to return when he’s needed to restore the balance of life and nature.
