If you have sat in a World and National Affairs class, you have heard the name Hillary Clinton. If you were paying attention, you might know her name has become attached to the 2016 presidential race. Clinton’s name has been thrown around a great deal when it comes to 2016, along with hopeful opponent, Joe Biden, whose name has also been mentioned. Some of the Republican candidates include: Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Chris Christie, Christie being the most notable candidate to run against Clinton. Of course, one could have all the poll numbers he wants, but the poll numbers will mean nothing without candidates running. Clinton has not officially announced that she is running, but she has the poll numbers to do it. Clinton has polled higher than most of the other potential Republican candidates. Her polls proved that she has the edge: Clinton/Jeb Bush 46/41 and Clinton/ Rand Paul 48/42. Of course the big Republican contender is Chris Christie, but Clinton still has the advantage 47/38 (poll numbers and credited to PublicPolicyPolling.com). These are the initial poll numbers without the benefits of endorsements or campaigning. Clinton does have things against her; of course being a woman is still seen by many as a disadvantage. Clinton also has the Benghazi controversy looming over her head. More disadvantages will arise if she decides to run for the highest office.
