When you walk into the Blu Alehouse you can tell it is made for a young crowd; it has a fresh and modern feel. The inside of the building has an industrial theme. All the windows on the far right side look like garage doors. The walls are painted brown with a brick backsplash. When it comes to the food, the meal was amazing from beginning to end. What I ended up ordering was spinach and artichoke with shrimp dip. It was served with tortilla chips and toasted bread. The dip was perfectly balanced, you could taste everything equally; the cheese, artichoke, spinach and shrimp without one overpowering the other. The added shrimp was an new touch on an old classic. When it came to dinner, I ordered “The Cape.” “The Cape” was a fried fish sandwich served with fries topped with Old Bay seasoning. When the sandwich came out it was huge! It had two large pieces of fish on it, and lettuce at the bottom. The sandwich also had a spicy thousand island-like sauce on the brioche roll, it had a nice chew against the crunch of the fried fish. At the end of the bite there was a hint of heat from the spicy thousand island sauce. The only complaint that I had was that the service was really slow. It took a long time to get the check. The food came out at a decent pace, but the waitress was never really around.
