Many residents of West Milford have enjoyed the new Italian restaurant that opened last Memorial Day weekend called Mama’s Pizza.

While the owner of this restaurant, Aaron, does sell a great variety of pizzas, the restaurant, over on 396 Lakeshore Drive in Hewitt, also has a considerable selection of Italian dishes from which to choose. The restaurant offers salads, calzones, sub sandwiches, pasta dishes, baked dinners and tasty appetizers, all of which are available for delivery or take-out.

The prices are reasonable for such delicious Italian food, and the menus now offer discount coupons inside. The pizzeria also has a catering service for various special events all over the surrounding areas.

Aaron says that because of the popularity his restaurant has achieved recently in the past few months, in the future he plans to make sit-down meals available to his customers.

After talking to Aaron, it is very impressive that his first restaurant, Mama’s Pizza, has been doing “very well” since it opened last May. Before he opened up, the property had been a deli, and since the deli’s closing, the residents in the area have been eager for a place to get a nice meal. The patrons of this small but thriving restaurant are very pleased with what the new restaurant has to offer. And while there is such a large variety of food from which to choose, Aaron mentions that some of the most popular dishes include the Stuffed Mushroom Alfredo and the Stuffed Chicken with Crab Meat.

I sampled a calzone when I visited Mama’s pizza recently. The calzone was toasty warm and the ham and mozzarella cheese together were melted perfectly. The pizza that is made there was just as good. The toppings were abundant, and there was a good balance between the tomato sauce, cheese, and toppings. Both were amazingly delicious for something that came out of a small restaurant. It just goes to show that sometimes the best things can come from anywhere.

For students and other residents of West Milford who are looking for a nice Italian take-out and delivery place, Mama’s pizza is definitely a place to consider next time you call for take-out.
