Lions, and tigers, and Seniors, oh my! The Class of 2014 went to the Bronx Zoo for their senior trip in early October. Although the weather wasn’t the best, it was cold and overcast, the seniors still tried to make the best of it. The zoo was speckled with black and gold as students walked about. A few favorite animals were the polar bears, tigers and seals. The seniors were allowed to roam around the zoo, only having to check in once. A few students were interviewed saying that they liked the zoo and they liked spending all day with their friends. Grace LeBart said, “I had a blast with my friends.” Another student, Cheyenne Ventro, said, “My favorite part was the monorail. I saw an elephant!!” Students who were asked about if they would they rather have gone to Medieval Times answered a definite answer “no”. When Mrs. Downs was asked why the Senior trip was changed she said, “Many students came to me saying they didn’t want to go to Medieval Times.” A consistent complaint was about how early the trip was, “It was the beginning of Senior year; it was too early,” said by Gina Oriolo. Another complaint was that there weren’t a lot of things open at this time of year.” Mrs. Downs said about the timing of the trip, “there are a lot of activities going on in the spring, so now would be easier.” Mrs. Downs confirmed that a lot of students didn’t want to go to the zoo. As a class, the seniors had a pretty good class trip!
