We are very pleased to have a new addition to our West Milford High School faculty, Mrs. LoRe. I was able to catch up to the English teacher and ask her a few questions about her experience so far in West Milford High School. When asked if she had to travel far to get to work she responded,”No, I do not have a very long commute.” She explained further “I do not live in Passaic County actually, I live in Morris County.” LoRe is a much loved teacher already with her skilled teaching methods and her awesome sense of humor. This begs another question: Was teaching her first choice? “Yes it was,” Ms. LoRe said. Her college professor had suggested it to her and she agreed it would be a good choice. It is known that the faculty loves the school district for which they work, and Ms. LoRe is no exception; she said, “Yes I like this district very much.”
Her favorite part of West Milford High School would have to be that “The teachers are great and the school is very nice. The students are very cooperative; it’s a nice climate.” Even though she is a teacher now, Mrs. LoRe said,” My first job ever was, well…I babysat.” From babysitting to English teacher she explained what she did in college to get where she is now. “I went to Montclair State University and I got my Bachelor’s Degree in English. I had a creative writing concentration and then I went to graduate school at Montclair State as well. I went on a full scholarship. I was a graduate assistant [and] a full time tutor in the writing center. It was a teaching scholarship, so I taught two classes a semester there while I went to school full time. So I have my Master’s in American Literature with an emphasis in Critical Race Theory and then I went to St. Peter’s for my teaching license.” Lastly, she included a fun fact about herself,” I have a super power to end a conversation and I can’t bake.” We are very pleased to have such an amazing teacher with us. Welcome, Ms. LoRe!
