On Thursday, March 28, 2013, West Milford High School’s junior prom was held at Casa Bianca from 6-10 P.M.
Traditionally on the day of prom, those going are allowed to leave school early to get themselves ready. This year, students were allowed to leave school at, or any time after, 11:30. When girls leave early, they normally go to hair, nail and/or makeup appointments to get ready for the big day. On the other hand, most guys leave early just to hangout and relax before prom.
Although bands have been used in the past, the music at this year’s prom was provided by a DJ. The DJ did an excellent job supplying the music. A variety of songs were played, varying from some old favorites to ones newly released. There was dancing throughout the whole event and everyone seemed to enjoy the music.
As expected, the fashion at prom was fun and interesting. There was a good mix of short and long dresses and a variety of colors worn by the girls. The guys all looked great in their tuxes as well. The fashion was a great addition to a night of entertainment.
This year’s junior prom was held at Casa Bianca, somewhere it has never been held , as The Tides has been the place to go for many years past. Due to the location being so close, some students drove, which acted as a great money saver, while others opted to take a limo to get the full prom experience.
Casa Bianca acted as a great place for prom to be held. This years theme, the roaring 20’s, was a fun way to get everyone involved in the excitement. Mrs. Downs was responsible for prom this year and thought very highly of the night. She believed the kids really seemed to like it and was pleased with how the night went. Junior Shayla Doherty attended the prom and thought it was a really fun night as well. Overall, prom was considered a successful night by students and teachers alike.
