In September, Mr. Eric Siegal arrived in West Milford High School as the new science supervisor.
Mr. Siegal has always been fascinated by science and is grateful that he can now help West Milford advance their educational program. He is very thankful for the opportunity presented to him as there were 1,000 applicants for only 80 positions. When asked to reply with one word about his impression of West Milford High School he answered, “academics.”
Before coming to West Milford, Mr. Siegal taught biology at Middlesex High School for 10 years. Middlesex High is a smaller school of only 675 students. While there, he served also as a coach for the football team.
Mr. Siegal brings with him experiences from beyond the field of education. He has been involved in several programs, including the setting up of a play gym. Siegal also interned at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. During his internship, he worked on Herception, an anti-breast cancer treatment.
In his free time, Mr. Siegal loves to cook. He also enjoys watching football. He is a big Giants fan.
Currently residing in Bridgewater, Siegal has a long daily commute of 50 minutes or more, one way. The drive, however, is worth it. Mr. Siegal shared, “I am happy to be here and hope to make science enjoyable for our students.”
