Mrs. Scully is the new Special Education Teacher at West Milford High School. She specializes in English and Transition to Post- Secondary Education.
Before working in education, Mrs. Scully graduated from Montclair State University with a degree in Business Administration. Scully worked for several years in corporate before deciding that it was not for her.
Looking for a new career path, Mrs. Scully went back to school for a scond degree in education. She earned her teaching certification at William Patterson University. Mrs. Scully is overjoyed that she made the decision to go into education. “Being in a classroom is where I was meant to be and helping students to be successful and reach their goals is what drives me every day.” This year is Mrs. Scully’s eighth year teaching, the past seven years she spent at Little Falls School.
Mrs. Scully decided to teach Special Education, because it a subject for which she had a passion. She is also interested in educational technology and plans to continue her education in that field..
When asked how she felt about being one of the 80 applicants who received a position at West Milford High School, Scully said “I feel extremely honored to be selected to become a part of the WMTHS staff.”
Outside of the school, Mrs. Scully keeps busy with her four year old son. Besides school and family, Mrs. Scully enjoys: hiking, skiing, reading and watching the New York Giants, Rangers and Yankees!
Though her time in the high school has just begun, Mrs. Scully stated, “I am glad to be a part of the WMTHS family.”
