Was your own experience similar to or different from those interviewed? Read the comments of your fellow classmates and feel free to add your own in the comment box that follows.
What do you look forward to in the next four years?
Andrea Hilario– I look forward to making life long friends. I hope to learn as much as I can in my high school career to prepare me for my future.
Billy Gaffney- I look forward to succeeding as much as I can throughout high school. I also look forward to meeting new people and helping others.
Kayla Stewart– For the next four years, I am looking for a great high school experience where I can meet new people and build toward my future.
Sarah Schoenfield– I am looking forward to making many new friends and learning the basics that will get me through life.
Trevor Coscia -I’m looking forward to getting good grades and having fun.
Is high school living up to your expectations?
Andrea Hilario– High school is a huge obstacle course and many challenges lie ahead of me. Some days run smoothly, and I have my bad days, too, but it is all part of the high school experience, and everything happens for a reason.
Billy Gaffney– I guess I really didn’t have any expectation except getting lost and more people.
Kayla Stewart– Yes I admit it is a little different than what I was expecting but it’s a good kind of different.
Sarah Schoenfield– West Milford High School is living up to my expectations. My sister told me about the school, so I kind of knew what to expect.
Trevor Coscia– Yes, but harder than I expected
Was the transition between Macopin and the WMHS easy for you?
Andrea Hilario– Quite frankly, the transition from Macopin to high school was pretty easy. Navigating round the school was not a challenge for me. Of course, it takes time to know the teachers as well.
Billy Gaffney-I found it very easy, besides the size difference of the buildings and the people.
Kayla Stewart– Yes, it’s basically the same with just a different building and rules.
Sarah Schoenfield– The transition was pretty easy. I’ve been here many times for school activities, so there wasn’t a problem with me adjusting top the building.
Trevor Coscia– It was hard for me to find my way around at first, but besides that it was a pretty smooth transition
Are you nervous about the reality that adult life is coming up?
Andrea Hilario– You can’t always stay in Neverland forever, because sooner or later you have to grow. I am excited for the future that lies ahead of me, however I want to enjoy myself my teenage years.
Billy Gaffney– No I’m not nervous, I’m actually happy. I cannot wait to become my own free self and make my own decisions.
Kayla Stewart– A little, but I’m excited too, while in high school I will learn more about what I want to do in life or how to get there.
Sarah Schoenfield– I’m not really nervous but more excited actually. I’m ready to take the new things and can’t wait to do new things.
Trevor Coscia– I honestly haven’t put much thought to the “adult future”
What do you see yourself doing as a senior?
Andrea Hilario– As a senior, I see myself taking on a medical internship somewhere. I also see myself applying to colleges such as John Hopkins, West Point, NYU, Colombia, and Seton Hall.
Billy Gaffney– Being class president still while playing varsity football, lacrosse, and basketball. I am also hoping to be part of NHS, or honor roll or high honor roll.
Kayla Stewart– As a senior I see myself building towards college and future years. I see myself ready to take on adult things, and take on that final step to adulthood.
Sarah Schoenfield- I see myself as being part of many different clubs and loving what I do.
Trevor Coscia– I haven’t looked that far into the future, I’m just trying to be a freshman.
Give one word to describe high school so far…
