Every since we were young children looking forward to our high school days, prom has been the event that we’ve all been waiting for. A night full of dancing, food, friends, and laughter is what we dreamed of.
Well, get excited Juniors because it is just around the corner and will be here before you know it. It is the final day before prom and everyone is doing their last minute shopping and making sure everything is set for the day of the event. It can definitely be stressful at times, so here are some tips to have the best experience you possibly can.
If you’re one of those last minute types of people and you don’t have a dress or tuxedo yet, you might be panicky. But please don’t fret, there are stores in the area that are budget pleasing. In our town, fifteen minutes away from the high school is a store called Abby’s Sew Right. It’s right across from the new Fox Island Creamery. They have many dresses of all different sizes and styles are reasonably priced. Not only can you buy your dress there but the owner, Abby, is a seamstress, so you can cross two things off of your last minute to- do list at once. On Union Valley road in Butler is a store called Classic Tuxedo. If you are in a rush, they are amazing at squeezing you in for a fitting for a tuxedo and then getting it done on short notice for the day of your prom.
The day of prom is when everyone is rushing around trying to make things perfect. It’s okay if you aren’t getting your hair and makeup done professionally. Doing it yourself will save you tons of money. There are plenty of Youtube channels that you can reference for ideas. For makeup tutorials, look up Lauren Curtis; for hair tutorials look up Lilith Moon. Remember, everyone will be stressed out and things might not go exactly as you plan. Always remind yourself that not everything is going to be perfect and that you can’t let it ruin your night.
Pictures are a great way to capture the memories of this amazing night. Don’t worry about having a professional photographer, as Lors Photography will be at the prom taking pictures of everyone all night. You have the option to pay for single photos or couple/group photos. If you have a photographer, but not a place to take pictures, Upper Greenwood Lake Clubhouse will be open for no cost to have your picture taken with the beautiful lake background.
When you actually get to the prom, let go and have fun! Don’t let any drama or any small details get to you. Nothing can ruin your night if you don’t let it. Make the best out of every situation. So surround yourself with friends and positive people and have the time of your life!
