The newly formed Boy’s J.V .Volleyball team had a fantastic start for its first year at West Milford High School. The team had a superior season with captains Marc Pellett and Shea Remschel leading the team to victory, with Shea later being announced MVP for the year. The spring season ended with a record of 8-6. With this the team shared a 1st place tournament win at the Elizabeth HS JV Boys Volleyball Tournament. This success helped the boys achieve their goals and boost their morale for this year. The team had freshman to seniors who battled their way to have a purely entertaining season in which fans never knew what to expect. Their first ever home game held seats filled with fans and packed with many members of The Herd. The atmosphere of West Milford pride was so dense that it was surely felt in the air. The team opened against Wayne Valley in an edge-of-your-seat three set game. It was a spirit rising comeback win after falling (25-23) in the first set. West Milford later took the game in the last sets of the score (25-18) and in the very last set managed to gain the 2 point lead to reach the win at (27-25) after the game being tied at 25 points for both teams. It was a truly outstanding season and as the seniors reach graduation, new recruits for the team are needed to maintain the team’s reputation for next year. Coaches Pevny and Forget trained the team to its finest and prepared them for the games at top shape working hard through drills and bringing their best on the court.
